2020 has been a year like no other for public health and for working together. PHA have received many kind offers to share their public information messages among staff and volunteers or to the public.
They have three priority messages which they'd like distributed especially in the lead up to Christmas.
This includes items which can be emailed out, items to share to social media, and items which can be printed and inserted into 'packs' or copied into newsletters.
Please share the messaging with your contacts and your audiences.

Message 1 - Stay safe, save lives
|
|
|

If you go outside stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people.

Wear a face covering where needed.

Cough or sneeze into your elbow or a tissue and dispose in a bin.

Wash hands with soap and water regularly.

Avoid touching your face

Download and activate the StopCOVID NI app from Apple or Google Play to your smartphone.

If you develop symptoms of COVID-19 – immediately self-isolate and seek testing.

Message 2 - Use digital contact tracing
|
|
|
|
|
Digital contact tracing means 'self-service' tracing. It rapidly alerts people who receive a positive test result, and who need to self-isolate.
Digital contact tracing frees up our staff to deal with complex cases. It suits most people who test positive (we still contact people manually where needed).
People receiving a positive test result also receive a separate text message with a personal code. They use this code online to input details of people with whom they were in recent close proximity. These 'contacts' are then quickly alerted to self-isolate.
Personal data is protected. The information collected is used only for the purpose of contact tracing and learning about the disease.
PHA are keen to encourage use of 'self-service' contact tracing as it can make such a difference to the spread of COVID-19.
