Diesel Engine Exhaust Emissions (DEEEs) consist of a complex mixture of gases, vapours, liquid aerosols and particulate substances. They are generated from the combustion process of diesel powered vehicles such as fork-lift trucks, railway locomotives, buses and lorries. DEEEs contain many known carcinogens (substances than can cause cancer) which are adsorbed onto soot particulates and can then be inhaled into a person’s respiratory tract.
